1 May. Home to Crystal Place in the SE Counties League Div One where we won 4-0 with a hat-trick from Fairbrother and one from
Manning. Team: Bowtell, Coventry, Bailey, Ford, Dafforn, Cook, Hopwood, Brisley, Fairbrother, Archell, Manning. Sub Holland. We
were second in the table some four points behind leaders QPR. We were three from bottom in division two.
2 May. Home to Chelsea in the London Youth FA Junior Challenge Cup Semi-final. Dispite goals from Bailey and Cook we lost 2-3.

but was Eastall in the programme.
We drew again with Colchester away (4 May) with the same scoreline as earlier in the
season, 1-1, Peter Allen getting the goal this time. Programme team: Goddard, Jones,
Simpson(Rofe played), Allen, Mancini, Taylor, Key(Slater played), Bloomfield(Harper
played), Massey, Halom, Slater(Simpson played). Sub Harper . Wasn’t him but I didn’t
note who it was. Terry Price was at 7 for them. We was asked to find the taste of
Trumans again. Football League Review was included.
The last two matches of the season, both at home, ended in defeat. At the hands of
Gillingham (7 May) 0-4 Programme team: Goddard, Jones, Rofe, Allen(Harper played,
Mancini, Taylor, Slater, Bloomfield, Massey, Halom, Simpson. Sub Harper but Wood re-
placed him. Riddick again turned up in their line-up. And Tranmere Rovers (11 May) 0-

Despite starting the season with only 15 players, 27 were to turn out for the club. No
